For my birthday this year, Timothy surprised me with the most thoughtful gift: a road trip from Dubai to Muscat, Oman, to stay at the iconic Chedi Hotel. The drive itself felt like part of the adventures; desert dunes slowly turned into mountains, and by the time we crossed the border into Oman, the scenery was breathtaking. There’s something so peaceful about road trips in this region; the emptiness, the golden light, the excitement of arriving somewhere new! When we finally pulled into The Chedi, it was everything I imagined and more. The calm, the design, the sea breeze,, It all feels so effortlessly beautiful. At sunset, the sky turned the prettiest shades of pink and lavender, reflecting in the pool like a painting. We sat by the fire pits with a cocktail and enjoyed the beautiful sunset.

The next morning, I woke up to the sweetest surprise. Breakfast in bed, birthday cards, and Dior gifts (Timothy knows me too well). I couldn’t have wished for a better start to my "Chapter 31".

What I love about The Chedi is that it’s incredibly elegant. Everything feels curated but never overdone. Whether it’s the sound of the sea, the scent of the gardens, or the soft lighting at sunset, it all blends together into this perfect sense of calm and Middle Eastern luxury.

If you’re looking for a romantic getaway or a little escape from the Dubai pace, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s one of those places where time seems to slow down — and for a weekend, that’s all you really need.

We'll be back for sure!
